About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers file for RFP 27001 ASL Interpreting Services issued by the North Eastern Junior College (NEJC) in Colorado. The RFP solicits American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services to support the college's educational programs. The document addresses bidder inquiries regarding service delivery preferences, specifically clarifying the evaluation criteria for onsite versus Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) services in light of the college's geographical location and limited onsite interpreter availability within a two-hour travel radius.

The Q&A response indicates that while onsite agencies will receive preference in the evaluation process, no specific weighted percentage has been assigned to this preference factor. The response further notes that certain courses may eventually require onsite interpretation services, but those specific courses have not yet been determined at the time of this Q&A issuance. This flexibility suggests the college maintains the option to adjust service delivery methods based on identified programmatic needs.

RFP 27001 ASL Services Questions and Answers

1. I see onsite agencies will be given preference. How much weight is put on providing onsite vs. VRI, due to the colleges' geographical location and limited onsite resources within 2 hours travel time?

Answer: There isn’t a specific weight that will be applied. There may be courses requiring on site interpretation but those are not yet determined.
