Summary

This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) manual for temporary shoring work at the Museum Place Garage, issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The project scope includes installation of temporary structural shoring at specified locations, temporary blocking of parking spaces to facilitate shoring installation, determination of required shoring based on field-verified demand loads and locations, and removal of loose concrete in designated areas. The work will be performed under a single prime contract, with all general bidders required to maintain DCAMM (Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance) certification for general construction. The project manual contains contract documents including drawings and specifications that define the complete scope of work requirements.

The procurement process requires responses from qualified general contractors meeting state certification requirements. Specific information regarding pricing terms, bid submission deadlines, site visit requirements, pre-bid conferences, contract award timeline, and contract term details should be referenced within the complete project manual and associated bidding documents. All prospective bidders must review the contract documents thoroughly to understand technical requirements, shoring specifications, and project conditions prior to submission of their bids.

2. Column 3C – Level 1C

• Install shoring at double tee beams, adjacent to column.

o Double tee-beam east of Column 3C.

o Double tee-beam at Column 3C.

• Install shoring at inverted Tee support beam immediately below noted double tee beams.

3. Columns 2E-G (West of Stair 1) – Level 1C
