Summary of Salient Characteristics for CMF Cases

This document is a Statement of Objectives for Combat Mission Folder (CMF) cases required by Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington. CMF cases are metal containers designed for aircraft configurations to transport and provide lockable storage for secret documents in aircrew operations. The objective is to increase the quantity of CMF cases on hand to enhance mission readiness for the fleet.

The procurement requires 35 metal storage containers constructed from 1/16" and 3/16" steel sheets with riveted or welded seams, measuring 25 1/2" in length, 14" in width, and 17 1/4" in height. Each case must feature two 5" x 5" x 3/16" steel mounting plates welded to the bottom with countersunk holes for aircraft installation, an inward-bent lip opening (1/2" high and 7/8" wide), hinged lids with centered connections, centered handles positioned 3 3/4" from the bottom on front and back, and a centered latch welded to the lid edge. The containers must be tamper-resistant such that any attempts to remove material when locked are evident, maintain uniform specifications across the fleet for weight and balance compliance, be compatible with Dash 21 floor plate installation systems, and be painted. Cases must have lockable lids and be installable on aircraft.
