About this file

This document is a Salient Characteristics specification for modular walls required by the 336 Training Squadron Security at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington. The 336 Tactical Response Group needs modular walls to establish a dedicated escape training laboratory within Building 1207 at 900 Artillery Road, Fairchild AFB, WA 99011. The modular system will support SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape) student training by consolidating escape, combative, and urban evasion training into a centralized location while reducing strain on existing overtasked facilities and improving student learning outcomes.

The contractor must deliver reconfigurable, portable modular wall panels designed for easy assembly, disassembly, and transport by no more than two people without additional equipment. The system shall include a minimum of 85 wall panels measuring 4' x 7-10', 8 to 15 doors with half opening inward and half opening outward, and 4 to 12 non-opening windows. The frame must incorporate lightweight vertical uprights, horizontal stabilizer bars, and adequate connectors enabling full use of all components. The total footprint must accommodate between 1,800 and 2,500 square feet and be suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Three identified part options meeting these requirements are listed: KTK-MMSH-005 (approximately 2,000 sq/ft with 85 wall modules, 12 doors, 4 windows), Sim-Tact 80 (80 wall panels, 8 doors, 12 windows), and Kit #4-STD (approximately 2,400 sq/ft with 90 wall panels, 15 doors, 10 windows).

1. BACKGROUND:

The 336 TRSS at Fairchild AFB requires modular walls to develop a modular teaching/training space for the 336 TRG SERE students.

2. OBJECTIVES:

Once the modular walls are purchased and delivered, Building 1207 will accommodate Joint Capability Tasks by providing a dedicated escape training laboratory, reduce the strain on overtasked facilities, improving student learning outcomes, and advancing the consolidation of escape, combative, and urban evasion training into a centralized location. These modular walls will be used to increase USAF SERE School student practice Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).

3. REQUIREMENTS:

Contractor shall provide and deliver the following:

a) Modularity: Reconfigurable design for varied layouts and scenarios.

b) Portability: Easy to assemble, disassemble, and transport with no more than two people or additional equipment.

c) Panel Construction: At least Qty eighty-five (85) 4' x 7-10' light weight panels for walls and includes QTY eight (8) to fifteen (15) doors with half opening inward and half opening outward and QTY four (4) to twelve (12) windows. Windows are not required to open/close.

d) Frame Construction: Lightweight vertical uprights, horizontal stabilizer bars, and adequate number of connectors to allow for full use of all panels/windows/doors.

e) Multiple Size Options: Minimum size of 1,800 sq/ft to a maximum size of 2,500 sq/ft

f) Will be primarily used indoors, but suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

4. PARTS LIST:

Based on market research, the identified part numbers and descriptions are options that can each meet the above requirements.
