About this file

This document is a detailed specification and bid request from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) for a Jetting & Vacuum Truck, specifically seeking a tandem axle truck chassis with a specialized vacuum body. The procurement involves a comprehensive request for a heavy-duty commercial vehicle designed for municipal and infrastructure maintenance purposes, with detailed specifications for both the chassis and body components. The specification outlines precise requirements for engine performance, transmission, axle capacity, electrical systems, cab features, and specialized vacuum truck functionality, including a minimum 22-foot boom, 1,000-gallon water tank, 10 cubic yard debris body, and specific hydraulic and water system capabilities.

The bid document provides an extensive template for vendors to quote pricing, with sections for chassis, body, and optional equipment pricing. Vendors are required to comply with federal and state regulations, provide the most current year model available, and meet stringent technical specifications including Tier 4 Final emissions standards. The procurement allows for vendor exceptions to specifications, which ODOT will review and potentially approve. Additional requirements include providing comprehensive manufacturer option lists, warranty details (including 10-year tank warranties), service location information, and recommended maintenance fluids. Pricing is to include inspection, labor, assembly, and delivery charges, with vendors encouraged to quote on as many chassis configurations as possible.
