About this file
This is an Addendum 1 document issued by the State of Michigan for a construction project at Lime Island State Recreation Area (SRA) related to the Superintendent's House (Contract 751/26333.MDL). The addendum modifies the original solicitation terms and conditions for renovation and repair work on the superintendent's residence. The document outlines clarifications, corrections, and additional requirements that bidders must incorporate into their proposals. All responses must acknowledge receipt and compliance with this addendum as part of the bid submission process. The specific due date for bids and any site visit requirements are contingent upon the original solicitation documents, which this addendum supplements rather than replaces.
The addendum establishes modifications to pricing terms, bid conditions, and project specifications as originally outlined in the base solicitation. Bidders are required to incorporate all addendum requirements into their cost proposals and contract performance obligations. This document serves as a binding amendment to the original contract opportunity and must be reviewed in conjunction with all other project documents, specifications, and bid requirements to ensure complete and compliant proposal submissions.

Questions
1. What is the intended construction for the roof sheathing and underlayment? Are we installing 7/16 OSB on the entire building or repairing sheathing as needed? What is the intended underlayment? Sheet A1 Roof Plan and the Section 1 prebid information's work description have conflicting statements. Which do we follow?
A: Per Section One – Pre-Bid Information, item 2. Work Description, include “repair of any rotten or deteriorated sheathing with treated plywood to match thickness”. Remove and replace only the sheathing that is unsound. Under Roofing Requirements of that same section, “underlayment shall be synthetic and breathable”. Sheet A1 Roof plan is intended as a for information only attachment. This sheet was used in a previous project.
2. Is there a forklift or similar machine on the island available for the contractor to use for transport of roofing and siding materials only during the project?
A: NO
3. It appears one elevation has windowsills of different heights. Which existing windowsill shall we use for measurement to stop wall shingle installation?
A: The add alternate work includes the “curved” portion of wall on the 3rd story, under the windowsill. There are only 2 equal height windows on the 3rd story.
4. To clarify that the bid sheet states, the base bid is only the roofing work and the Add alternate is for any siding work?
http://www.michigan.gov/SIGMAVSS
A: Correct, base bid is for all roofing work. Add alternate is for siding work.
5. Could you please clarify if the State has any estimated roof measurements, historical takeoff records, or total square footage on file that you could share with us to assist with our proposal?
A: Yes, see attached additional existing floor plan drawings.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: This Addendum must be acknowledged by the Bidder in the space provided in the Bid Summary and Bid Form. Failing to acknowledge Addenda may be cause for the Bid to be rejected. Addenda will become part of the Contract Documents.
