About this file

This is a construction drawing set for concrete mounting pads at Rock Island Arsenal JMTC, consisting of 10 sheets with general locations, notes, security requirements, and detailed elevation and construction plans for eight work areas.

The project involves demolition and construction of concrete mounting pads in Building 220 and its annex at Rock Island Arsenal. Areas 1-5 require removal of existing 4"-8" concrete floors and installation of new 5000-PSI concrete mounting pads measuring 24 inches deep with double-tied #5 rebar mesh (5/8", 12" spacing) positioned 6 inches from top and bottom surfaces. Area 6 is existing concrete requiring surface repair, crack remediation, and a 200-grit finish polish on approximately 4,500 square feet. Area 7 involves removal of a 24-inch-thick existing mounting pad, installation of tie-back supports (12"x12"x1/2" steel plates with #8 rebar every 10 feet), and 4000-PSI concrete placement. Area 8, located in a basement tunnel (confined space), requires formation of a 16-inch-thick concrete lid with doweled #5 epoxy-coated rebar and 4500-PSI concrete with troweled finish. All work requires 3/4-inch expansion joint material (BASF Sonolastic SL-1 or equivalent), water dust control, proper equipment staging with commercial concrete pumping or power dollies, and coordination with the Contracting Officer. Contractor personnel must complete RIA-JMTC AT Level I awareness training, comply with security protocols (FPCON, RAMP, iWATCH programs), and obtain proper access credentials. Concrete haul times are limited to 1 hour 30 minutes at 50-64°F, 1 hour without retarder at 65-90°F, and 1 hour 30 minutes with retarder at 65-90°F.
