About this file

This is a Statement of Experience (Prequalification Special) form requiring bidders to demonstrate relevant project experience and qualified critical staff for temporary cofferdam and dewatering work. The document establishes mandatory experience criteria that bidders must meet to be considered responsible contractors for what appears to be a state or local public works project involving waterway construction.

Bidders must document completion of at least three projects within the last 10 years meeting specific technical requirements: temporary steel sheet-pile cofferdam installation in or adjacent to waterways, minimum hydrostatic pressure of 14 feet, constant dewatering for a minimum of one month in an artesian aquifer, and dewatering rates of at least 400 gallons per minute. Experience can be held by the bidder as prime contractor or by a proposed subcontractor. Additionally, bidders must identify and provide experience documentation for four categories of critical staff: a licensed professional engineer in California with cofferdam design experience on at least three similar projects; a California-licensed professional engineer or certified hydrogeologist with dewatering system design experience on at least three similar projects; and a supervising foreperson who has supervised at least three comparable cofferdam projects. All listed critical staff require prior engineer approval before any changes may be made. The form requires bidders to provide detailed project information including contractor identification, contract amounts, completion dates, public agency contact details, and specific technical specifications for each referenced project.

26-10 STATEMENT OF EXPERIENCE

Experience Criteria To be considered a responsible bidder, provide information to demonstrate past work experience on at least three projects within the last 10 years of similar or greater size and scope for temporary cofferdam and dewatering. Similar projects are defined as designing and installing temporary steel sheet-pile cofferdam in or adjacent to a waterway and used in conjunction with dewatering to establish a projected work area retaining a minimum hydrostatic pressure of 14 feet and constant dewatering for longer than 1 month in an artesian aquifer, at minimum 400 gallons per minute.

Experience will be rated on a pass/fail basis based on listed projects meeting the following criteria:

o Temporary steel sheet-pile cofferdam o Minimum hydrostatic pressure of 14 feet o Constant dewatering for minimum 1 month o Dewatering in an artesian aquifer o Dewatering rate minimum 400 gallons per minute o Projects completed within the last 10 years

Bidder’s Project History Bidder shall have completed at least 3 projects for public agencies meeting the experience criteria described above. Qualifying experience can be with bidder as prime contractor or with proposed subcontractor listed on Document 00 43 36 Subcontractors Form. The proposed subcontractor need not have been employed by the bidder at the time the referenced projects were completed.

Below are three projects meeting the listed experience criteria.
