About this file

This is an addendum to an invitation to bid issued by the City of Albany, Georgia's Finance Department for the Airport Fire Station Roof project (Bid Ref. #26-038). The project involves recovering the fire station roof located at 2415 Tower Lane, Albany, GA 31721, in accordance with the scope of work and contract specifications. The sealed bid submission deadline is March 27, 2026, at 2:30 p.m., with bids to be received by the City of Albany Procurement Division at 222 Pine Avenue, Suite 260, Albany, Georgia 31701. All work must be completed as detailed in the bid documents and specifications provided in the original invitation to bid.

Key modifications clarified in this addendum include requirements that any lightning protection system removal and relocation on the new roofing system must be performed by a specialty contractor certified with the Lightning Protection Institute (LPI) and supervised by an LPI-certified Master Installer, with the system re-certified upon completion to ensure compliance with NFPA 780 and UL 96A standards. The City of Albany strongly encourages but does not mandate Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation, does not provide a certified DBE company list, and has established no specific DBE participation percentage goal for this project. Previous requirements for individual worker background checks, SIDA badging fees, and airport security training have been deleted; instead, the City will provide a designated security officer to remain on-site throughout the project to manage access and oversight. Shelby Daniels is designated as the Project Manager and should be contacted at 229-407-0835 for all site-specific coordination and operational inquiries.
