About this file

This is a Packaging Requirements document (AFMC Form 158) for federal contract FD20302601161-00, Version 1, establishing packaging and marking standards for military shipments. The document specifies that all wooden packaging materials (WPM)—including pallets, skids, boxes, crates, and dunnage—must be constructed from debarked wood and heat-treated to 56 degrees Celsius (133 degrees Fahrenheit) for a minimum of 30 minutes to comply with United Nations restrictions on invasive species, particularly the pinewood nematode. Certification and marking by an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC) is required, with reference to International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM No. 15).

All items subject to this requirement (identified as item 1680010732187RK) must be packaged in accordance with MIL-STD-2073-1 (Standard Practice for Military Packaging) at Preservation Level MIL, Packaging Level B. Shipping containers must be marked per MIL-STD-129 (Standard Practice for Military Marking), Revision R, with additional markings potentially required for unit serial numbers, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) names, or OEM model numbers as specified on the AFMC Form 158. The packaging specialist is Aaron D. Mallory (406 SCMS/GULAA, 405-582-9768), and the requirement was finalized on March 4, 2026.
