About this file

This is a Scope of Work document for the City of Solms, Texas, detailing an open cut water main pipe replacement project along Interstate Highway 35. The project, designed by Quiddity Engineering, LLC, encompasses approximately 2,730 linear feet of new water main piping in 4-inch, 6-inch, and 12-inch diameters, along with the installation of a pressure reducing valve. The scope includes grout fill abandonment of existing piping, removal of existing piping including asbestos cement pipe, traffic control measures, storm water pollution prevention, and site restoration. All work is necessary to complete the project and deliver functional water infrastructure along the specified corridor.

The document establishes technical specifications and construction standards for the replacement work but does not specify pricing structures, payment terms, set-asides, or funding sources within the summarized content. Bidders should anticipate requirements for proper handling of hazardous materials, particularly asbestos cement pipe removal, and compliance with traffic management protocols given the project's location along a major interstate highway. The work involves coordination with both utility and transportation considerations, requiring contractors with experience in urban water infrastructure projects and environmental compliance procedures.
