About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the requirements for rebuilding one McQuay WSC087-BAABM Brand Centrifugal Chiller at the Federal Correctional Institution in Mendota, California. The project requires a factory-trained contractor to perform a comprehensive rebuild that includes dismantling and inspecting critical chiller components such as the inlet guide vane assembly, thrust bearing, compressor, motor shaft, impellers, and various electrical and mechanical systems. The contractor must replace all roller thrust and sleeve bearings, seals, gaskets, and conduct extensive testing including vibration analysis, functional tests, and operational evaluations to ensure the chiller meets manufacturer specifications.

Key contractor responsibilities include providing all labor, materials, and specialized services, complying with safety standards, obtaining necessary permits, and maintaining McQuay chiller manufacturer certification. The rebuild must follow the manufacturer's "Centravac Major Inspection and Renovation Service Steps and Procedures" with specific requirements for component evaluation, refrigerant leak checks, lubrication system inspection, and motor/starter assessment. The contractor will be required to provide warranties of at least one year on parts and labor, and five years on motors and compressors, with all work to be completed between 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, at the Federal Correctional Institution located at 33500 West California Avenue, Mendota, CA 93640.
