About this file

Attachment A is a detailed map document for a federal contract opportunity (Solicitation Number 25-367) involving vessel charter and support services for marine scientific research. The document depicts two proposed work areas in the Gulf of Mexico between longitudes 87°20' and 85°25' and south to latitude 28°25', with a maximum operational depth of 200 meters. Figure 1 shows the daylight working hours zone with approximately 200-250 potential camera sampling locations circled in red, while Figure 2 illustrates the nighttime working hours zone with potential sidescan mapping sampling locations circled in orange, with 3-5 mapping grids planned to be completed daily depending on weather conditions and vessel location.

The mapping areas are part of a small business set-aside contract for the Southeast Fisheries Science Center, involving deployment and retrieval of video arrays, environmental DNA (eDNA) sampling, and sidescan mapping. The base year contract period runs from award through November 30, 2025, with quotes due by 16:00 PM EST on 6/24/2025. Quotes must be submitted electronically to heather.mahle@noaa.gov, with evaluation criteria focusing on technical approach, past performance, and pricing, with the non-price technical solution being significantly more important than price in the award determination.

ATTACHMENT A

In the area between longitudes 87°20’ and 85°25’ and south to latitude 28°25’, to a maximum depth of 200 m.

Figure 1. Proposed area of work for the daylight working hours. Points within the area circled in red denote possible camera sampling locations for this contract. Depending on weather conditions, roughly 200-250 sampling locations will be completed. Points are general locations and subject to change, not all points in map will be sampled.

Figure 2. Proposed area of work for the nighttime working hours. Points within the area circled in orange denote possible sidescan mapping sampling locations for this contract. A range of 3 to 5 sidescan mapping grids will be completed each day, depending on weather conditions and vessel location after the daylight operation shift. Points are general locations and subject to change.
