About this file
Sarasota County has issued an Invitation for Quotes (IFQ #252772RM) for Conveyance Systems Inspection Services for county-owned and operated facilities. The solicitation requires a contractor to provide yearly certified elevator inspection services for various conveyance systems including elevators, dumbwaiters, escalators, moving sidewalks, platform lifts, and stairway chair lifts, in compliance with Florida Statutes. The inspections will be performed annually, with most conveyances requiring inspection during February, March, and April. Contractors must have at least one employee with a Certified Elevator Inspector license and submit two verifiable commercial, industrial, or governmental references from the past seven years. The county will coordinate the inspection schedule in the 4th quarter of each calendar year, with inspections to commence in January of the following year.
The IFQ has a quote threshold of $150,000 per project or contract year, and bidders must complete a Vendor Questionnaire and Pricing Table in the OpenGov procurement portal. While local and American business preferences are typically considered, they do not apply in this solicitation due to grant funding requirements. Contractors must maintain various insurance coverages, including Workers' Compensation, Commercial General Liability, Business Automobile Liability, and Umbrella/Excess Liability, with specific minimum coverage amounts. The contractor will be responsible for providing inspection reports, coordinating with the County's Conveyance Systems Service Contractor, and performing any necessary follow-up inspections for failed initial assessments.
