About this file
This document is an Invitation for Quotes (IFQ) issued by Sarasota County, Florida, seeking a contractor to replace approximately 1,182 linear feet of fence at the Sleeping Turtles Preserve South. The project was necessitated by fence damage from Hurricane Milton in October 2024. The fence shall be 8 feet high, constructed in a pressure-treated board-on-board style with 12-foot pressure-treated 4" x 6" lumber posts set in concrete footers. Contractors must submit quotes through the OpenGov Procurement portal, with a maximum quote threshold of $150,000 per project or contract year. The project requires completion within 90 calendar days of receiving the County-issued Purchase Order, and contractors must provide two references demonstrating fence installation experience, with at least one reference from a governmental institution.
The solicitation includes specific requirements for contractors, including maintaining a clean and safe work site, providing workers who can communicate in English, and being responsible for all debris removal. Insurance requirements are comprehensive, including Workers' Compensation, Commercial General Liability (with Sarasota County listed as an additional insured), and Business Automobile Liability. The County intends to award the contract to the responsive and responsible offeror submitting the lowest total bid price. Local and American business preferences will not apply due to grant funding requirements. The project will be funded through a grant, with grant terms outlined in a separate attachment that will take precedence over standard contract terms.
