About this file
This document is a Request for Qualifications and Proposal (RFQ/P) issued by Lake County, Colorado for an Architect of Record to lead the Lake County Building Renovation Project. The project involves renovating the existing County Administration building, with a primary focus on updating Sheriff operations facilities, including detention and administrative spaces, and improving courts security. The RFQ/P seeks architectural and engineering services to redesign spaces for the Sheriff's Office, Courts, and County Commissioners Chambers. Qualifications are due on June 27, 2025, with interviews scheduled for the week of July 14, 2025. The project is expected to commence construction in Q1 2026 and be completed by October 2026, using a Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) delivery method.
The project will be funded by Lake County, with potential additional grant funding for optional alternate scopes, such as renovations for the courts and district attorney's office. The county has already engaged McClaren, Wilson & Lawrie (MWL) as a technical consulting architect to develop initial programming and conceptual designs. The selected architect will work collaboratively with MWL and other project team members, including Dynamic Program Management (owner's representative) and FCI Constructors, Inc. (CM/GC). The RFQ/P emphasizes the need for expertise in designing law enforcement, court, and administrative facilities, with a focus on transparency, collaborative design, and meeting specific project milestones.
