About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the repair requirements for a Hexagon Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division. The CMM is critical for inspecting incoming components for Navy and NATO ordnance manufacturing, and its current movement functions are inoperative. The contractor must employ qualified technicians, possess necessary replacement parts and tools, and complete repairs within 60 days of contract execution, adhering to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17025 standards.

The associated federal contract opportunity is a sole-source procurement intended to award a firm fixed-price contract directly to Hexagon (250 Circuit Drive, North Kingston, RI) without competitive bidding. The Navy justifies the sole-source approach under FAR 13.106(b), claiming Hexagon is the only vendor capable of meeting the requirements. Interested parties may submit alternative capability statements by June 09, 2025 at 10:00 AM EST to Erica Sites, with the expectation that such submissions must provide clear evidence that competition would benefit the government. The contract's NAICS code is 811210, and vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be considered.
