Dear Mr. Ahmad:
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) has completed the review of your application for a Department of the Army permit received on January 26, 2024. Your application was assigned file number SAJ-2024-00245. A review of the information and drawings provided indicates that the proposed work would result in the installation of 80 linear feet of sheet pile walls (consisting of (4) 20-foot sections) installed 12-inches waterward from the existing sheet pile wall. To level the area behind the newly installed sheet pile walls, 13.5 cubic yards of flowable concrete backfill will be used. Pile jackets will be installed with cathodic protection onto existing bridge pilings. Placement of 225 cubic yards of riprap will be used to stabilize the shoreline and bridge pilings in an effort to reduce scouring. The riprap that is placed along the sheet pile walls shall be placed at a 2:1 slope. The riprap used to stabilize bridge pilings shall match the existing bottom of the canal and may not impede the flow of water through the canal. The activities subject to this permit are authorized pursuant to Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C. § 403), and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 U.S.C. § 1344). The project is located within an unnamed drainage canal at the Ted Curcie Bridge (latitude 25.9888 longitude -81.2616), in Section 32, Township 51 South, Range 27 East, Naples, Collier County, Florida.
Your project, as depicted on the enclosed drawings (Attachment A), is authorized by

Failure to comply with applicable PDCs will constitute noncompliance with this permit. In addition, failure to comply with the applicable PDCs, where a take of listed species occurs, would constitute an unauthorized take. The NMFS is the appropriate authority to determine compliance with the Endangered Species Act. The most current version of JAXBO can be accessed at the Jacksonville District Regulatory Division website in the Endangered Species section of the Sourcebook located at:
http://www.saj.usace.army.mil/Missions/Regulatory/SourceBook.aspx
JAXBO may be subject to revision at any time. The most recent version of the JAXBO must be utilized during the design and construction of the permitted work.
