About this file
This is Addendum #1 for Bid #25-39 issued by Henry County Purchasing Department in Georgia for the purchase and delivery of ballistic shields. The bid seeks to procure Rapid Deployment Shields that are NIJ IIIA rated, with specifications including an ERT ambidextrous tri-grip handle, dimensions of 15.75" x 27.5", weight not exceeding 4.8 lbs, capability to support multiple weapons or arm rest positions, and a black painted finish. Responses are due by January 27, 2025 at 3:00 PM local time.
The addendum clarifies several key points through a Q&A format: the bid is not brand-specific, required documents are located on page 22 of the bid package, a Statement of Warranty is required, and Drug Free Workplace Certification will be required upon award but not with the bid submission. The county explicitly rejected consideration of an alternative RollShieldMH-Handgun product, despite its meeting dimensional and weight requirements. The standard contract form included in the bid document is provided as a sample only and does not need to be completed for bid submission.

7. Question: Would the Henry County PD be interested in or willing to consider the attached shield?
With the intent being for carry, the RollShieldMH-Handgun provides features, like an integrated quick-adjust rifle style sling and the ability to roll up into a easily transported, discrete size while still deploying to full size in less than a second, that are well suited for this purpose. It can also be made to the desired size (15.75"x27.5"), with an ambidextrous tri-grip, while remaining under 4.8 lbs.
*Please see the attached spec sheet, below, regarding the RollShieldMH-Handgun.
