About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for California's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) regarding moving services for the San Pedro DMV Field Office. The scope of work requires the contractor to provide office moving services including transportation and temporary storage of office equipment and materials. The contractor must supply a minimum of two movers and one truck, though bidders may use additional resources as needed. A site visit will be available after contract execution and before the move occurs. The contract term is twelve months, with an estimated project cost of $9,990.00 and a proposed start date referenced in the Schedule of Events.

Key service requirements clarified through the questions and answers include that the contractor is not responsible for unhanging or rehanging wall-mounted items such as bulletin boards or whiteboards, and metal shelving will not require uninstallation or reinstallation. The DMV will provide storage containers to be placed in the parking lot, though the exact distance from the building is unknown. The contractor must provide pallets and pallet jacks for potential palletization of items. No IT or electronic equipment will be moved or stored. Cost Sheet submissions (Attachment 2) should indicate the total cost of service rather than hourly rates. The DVBE set-aside has been waived for this solicitation, and there is no current contractor.
