About this file
This document outlines the salient characteristics for a replacement cooling tower at Facility 431 on Patrick Space Force Base. The current cooling tower has reached the end of its useful life due to the corrosive environment and must be replaced to maintain proper temperature and humidity control for the 45th SW Theater and Chapel. The required replacement is a Trane Tower Tech Cooling Tower with 465 GPM capacity, 208/3 VAC/PH power, CTI certification, and 100% non-corrosive FRP construction with stainless steel hardware. Optional features include a unit-mounted motor protection panel and factory startup assistance. The related federal contract opportunity is solicitation number FA252124QB051 for 45 CES to provide a replacement cooling tower in building 431. The required delivery date and other submission requirements are not specified.

TRANE TOWER TECH COOLING TOWER REPLACEMENT FOR
FACILITY 431
Abstract Salient Characteristics for Trane Tower Tech Cooling Tower
NEED/ REQUEST FOR COOLING TOWER AT FACILITY 431.
The request for a Tower Tech cooling tower is required to maintain air conditioning operations for the 45th SW Theater and 45th SW Chapel. The cooling tower are both essential part of the chiller system that provides necessary equipment and comfort cooling to the facility. The current system has reached its manufacture end of life usage due to corrosive environment. All equipment and space in the facility must have and maintain a 65°F-70°F +/- 2°F degree condition space as well as a 20-30% relative humidity.
COMMODITY REPLACEMENT
• Cooling Tower: A specialized heat exchanger in which air and water are brought into direct contact with each other in order to reduce the water's temperature. As this occurs, a small volume of water is evaporated, reducing the temperature of the water being circulated through the tower.
