Spherical Roll Positioner System

Vendor to submit quotation to AFRL/RI to deliver a spherical roll positioner system (hereafter referred to as the System) as described below. The system will be used to perform far-field antenna pattern characterization within a rectangular anechoic chamber for various antennas under test (AUTs).
1. Specifications and Performance
Basic Physical Attributes:
• The system shall consist of both a controllable, 2-axis roll-azimuth positioner and a separate, controllable 1-axis roll positioner.
• The system shall fit into the anechoic chamber with the following relevant dimensions:
o Chamber door opening: 0.9m x 2.0m o Chamber height (internal): 3m o Chamber width (internal): 4m
• The system shall weigh no more than 22kg.
Electrical Specifications:
• The system shall use a standard 120V NEMA 5-15 plug for its power supply
• The system shall be controlled via a computer and either of the following interfaces:
o USB o Ethernet
Performance Specifications:
• The system shall support an AUT weight of at least 5kg.
• The system shall support an AUT depth of at least 170mm.
• The system shall have a measurement height of at least 350mm.
• The system shall be capable of generating the following output data and data plots:
o Azimuth cut o Elevation cut o Full 3-D antenna pattern
• The system must have an angular resolution of at least:
o 0.1° for the roll-azimuth positioner.
o 0.1° for the 1-axis roll positioner.
• The system must include a defined method for aligning each positioner.
Other Specifications:
• The system must utilize Python-based control code for ease of integration and control by
AFRL/RI.
• The system must include the positioner control source code and 3-D antenna pattern plotting source code in an uncompiled, user readable format.
