About this file
This document is a set of Questions and Answers regarding a Request for Information (RFI) for Cloud Service Provider Continuous Monitoring Automation posted by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The RFI seeks information on a solution to provide automated continuous monitoring of IRS cloud service providers, with the goal of addressing NIST 800-53 Rev5 security control risks. Key details include:
The IRS anticipates approximately 40 users will need access to the subscription-based automation tool, which must be able to perform automated validation of packages and deliverables. The tool should provide APIs to integrate with FedRAMP PMO tools, and the IRS is looking to potentially integrate the solution with existing security tools and data sources. The IRS expects complete knowledge transfer at the beginning and end of the contract period. The IRS is seeking solutions that adhere to FedRAMP and other NIST guidance, and can monitor a yet-to-be-determined number of cloud service providers across multiple cloud platforms. The RFI response deadline is May 7, 2024.
