About this file

This is Addendum #2 to IFB #24C870002 issued by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) for Ballistic Lobby Enclosure Installation Services at the CHP Morongo Basin Area office in Joshua Tree, CA. The addendum completely replaces Exhibit A "Scope of Work" and describes the installation of a secure lobby enclosure requiring level 3 ballistic glass panels, bullet-resistant door, electronic entry devices, stainless steel pass-through trays, Kevlar wall sheeting, and installation of ballistic panels behind fifteen existing windows and one exterior door. The work will be performed on weekends or evenings at 63683 29 Palms Highway, Joshua Tree, CA 92312.

The contractor must possess a valid California Contractor's State License Board License General B and provide a 100% payment bond. The scope includes removing an existing fire curtain and water fountain, retrofitting or replacing the counter with ADA-compliant features, installing new cabinetry with money drawer, and ensuring all work complies with 2010 ADA Standards, 2019 California Title 24, and Title 19 CCR regulations. The work includes a two-year warranty on labor and materials. An attached Fire Marshal inspection report indicates the fire curtain can be removed but requires submission of plans and specifications to Cal Fire OSFM for permits prior to construction modifications.
