About this file
This is Addendum #2 to IFB #24C834001 issued by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) for Ballistic Lobby Enclosure Installation Services at the CHP Needles Area office. The addendum revises Exhibit A "Scope of Work" to integrate a State Fire Marshal Report regarding removal of a fire curtain. The scope includes installing level 3 ballistic glass panels with matching aluminum framing, new cabinets, a bullet-resistant door, Kevlar sheeting, electronic door entry devices, stainless steel pass-through trays, and other security features at 1916 J Street, Needles, CA 92363. Work must be performed on weekends or evenings unless other arrangements are made with CHP facilities coordinators.
The contractor must possess a valid General B California Contractor's State License and provide a 100% payment bond. The work includes demolishing the existing counter and installing a new 18-gauge stainless steel counter with anti-graffiti finish, new ¾" plywood cabinets, and two windows - one at regular height and one meeting ADA requirements. All work must comply with ADA Standards, California Title 24, and State Fire Marshal Regulations. The contractor must warranty all work, labor and materials for two years. The Fire Marshal has approved removal of the existing fire curtain based on 2022 Building Code review, though a construction permit through Calfire.govmotus.org is required prior to modifications.
