Questions and Answers II

1. For the switch (A.1), are you using any Cisco management system for which licenses would need to be included or is it a standalone switch?

a. Licenses would need to be included, just like all the other Cisco equipment and switches, Cisco C9300 DNA Essentials 48 port term licenses, C9300 DNA Essentials 48 port 3 year term license

2. In the case of the access points (A.2), do you already have a controller, do you need one, or are the APs to be configured as standalone? If you have a controller, we need to know what model to order the correct licenses (A.4).

a. Yes already have controller in server room to connect the Aps to, so will not be standalone.

b. Model: cisco 3504 wireless controller

3. We need detail on what is meant by “existing HIS network equipment” in A.3. (i.e. to what are we attaching the new equipment?)

a. This will be connecting to the existing Cisco Catalyst 9300 48 PoE+ switches

4. We need to determine how many Cat6 patch cables would be needed (A.5).

a. Twenty (7-10 ft. each)

5. For connecting to “existing fiber” (A.7), we need to know a) what type of fiber, b) what type of connectors at the patch panel, and c) distance to the “far end” equipment in order to get the correct SFP modules.

a. Multimode armored Optic cable

b. 200ft total

c. LC style connector

6. Per the amendment, the cables to the AP locations are already run, so we would not have to pull any cable.

Cables would need to be pulled to locations in ceiling back to server room

7. Would a secondary power supply be required for the Cisco 9300 Catalyst switch?

APC UPS backup would be ideal

8. Have the AP and switch locations been determined yet and if so, would it be possible to see those locations on a marked up floor plan? As I understand, all network communication cables have already been ran to designated drop locations, is that right?

Yes, yes. Verify access drops.

9. Would a post-installation survey and report be necessary after the hardware has been installed and commissioned? Yes

10. In regards to the licensing and hardware support from Cisco, would 24x7 support be needed or would 8x5 support suffice? 24X7 support..
