About this file

This document is an Invitation for Quotes (IFQ) #242658FB issued by Sarasota County, Florida, seeking a supplier for Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis (Bti), a biological larvicide. The county is soliciting quotes to select a supplier to provide Bti on an as-needed basis, with a strict quote limit of $150,000 per project or contract year. Offerors must submit their quotes electronically through OpenGov Procurement and provide a commercial, industrial, or governmental reference demonstrating experience providing biological larvicide within the past seven years. The product specifications require a granular formulation with 5.71% active ingredient (Strain BMP 144 solids, spores, and insecticidal toxins), packaged in 30-50 pound bags, with delivery to Mosquito Management Services within 14 calendar days of purchase order receipt.

The county will award the contract to the responsive and responsible offeror submitting the lowest total bid price, with all pricing to be inclusive of delivery costs and no additional fees permitted. While local and American business preferences are typically considered in Sarasota County procurement, these preferences do not apply in this solicitation due to grant funding requirements. The contractor must maintain specific insurance coverages, including Workers' Compensation, Commercial General Liability (with Sarasota County named as an additional insured), and Business Automobile Liability. Invoices must include the delivery address, purchase order number, and manifest or bill of lading. The materials will be fully warranted for one year or the standard manufacturer warranty, whichever is longer, and the county reserves the right to reject and return products that do not meet specifications.
