About this file

This addendum addresses questions and answers related to RFP #2417 issued by Kenosha County for kayak and paddleboard rental operations at Silver Lake Park Beach. The contract will commence upon execution, with Kenosha County targeting July 2024 for finalization to capture revenue during the active season. The initial contract term is five years, with potential extension by mutual agreement; however, the County reserves the right to issue a new RFP after the initial term if multiple vendors express interest in providing the service.

Historical revenue data from 2023 shows 344 total rentals generating $4,255 in revenue, representing the first year of paddleboard rental operations following a five-year gap in service offerings. The current kayak rental operation is provided in-house by County staff. Kenosha County Parks anticipates greater revenue potential through a well-managed and efficient rental program and seeks a qualified vendor with previous rental experience to implement a self-serve, digital rental experience that balances business objectives with enhanced customer service at the beach facility.

RFP #2417 Addendum One Page 1 of 1

Yes.

Questions & Answers:

Q1. Can you please provide historical revenue information for this operation?

A. In 2023 we had 344 total rentals for an overall revenue of $4,255.

There is no other data because prior to 2023 there was a 5-year gap where we did not offer paddleboard rentals. We expect that there is more revenue potential at the site assuming a well run and efficient rental program is put in operation.

Q2. Who currently holds this contract and when does it expire?

A. The current Kayak rental is being provided in house by County staff.

Q3. When does the new contract start and up to how many years is the agency willing to extend the term of the contract if mutually agreed?

A. Contract will begin upon execution per the terms of the contract and will continue for a period of five years. We hope to negotiate and execute the contract sometime in July to allow for revenue to be made this season. We may extend the contract if mutually agreed for additional terms, but we may send this out for RFP after the initial term if multiple vendors have an interest in providing this service.
