About this file
This is a project scope of work document prepared by The Garland Company for the County of Kenosha, Wisconsin, detailing the installation of a flush seam metal cladding system on the Fleet Maintenance Garage located at 1116 57th Street, Kenosha, Wisconsin 53140. The project involves installing metal cladding over the exterior brick surface of the building's southern face and front entrance. The scope of work includes surface preparation of the brick, installation of waterproof underlayment, hat channels, and flush seam wall panels with proper fastening and sealing. Installation requires coordination of flashing and sheet metal work to ensure weathertight conditions, with panels installed to be true to line and plane and free of defects. The contractor is responsible for removing and reinstalling the building sign above the front entrance, detaching and reattaching the facility camera at the western corner, trimming glass block windows and door entrances with the metal cladding system, and maintaining the ability to block off the front entrance during construction with owner approval.
The document provides detailed specifications for installation standards, including fastener spacing per manufacturer specifications, proper lap sealing, temperature expansion and contraction provisions, and finish work including paint touch-up of exposed fasteners and final cleaning of all exposed surfaces. Technical details are provided for window heads, jambs, coping caps, sills, and metal cladding panel profiles. The project notes indicate coordination requirements with the building owner regarding entrance access and timing, with the document marked "Approved for Bidding," indicating that this is the final specification document for contractors submitting bids for the metal cladding installation work.
