About this file

This document contains the Special Instructions and Conditions for a state contract opportunity for the procurement of private shell eggs. The eggs must be Grade A, Medium, and meet specific packaging, labeling, and delivery requirements. Bidders must base their pricing on the top price to retailers for Grade A eggs in the New York market, as published in the USDA Egg Market News Report. Eggs must be inspected and graded by a USDA or Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture agent, and the shipping containers must be labeled with the product identification and date of pack. Delivery must be made within 7 days of the date of pack, in a refrigerated truck with an ambient temperature not exceeding 40°F. The Commonwealth reserves the right to increase or decrease the quantities ordered and to reject any non-conforming products, with the vendor responsible for removing rejected items and replacing them at no additional cost. Payments will be made upon receipt and acceptance of the delivered commodities.

The document also includes a Commodity Listing that specifies the estimated quantities, unit of measure, and bidding instructions for the shell eggs. Bidders must bid a monetary amount above or below the market price, or indicate if they are bidding at the straight market price. The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services is the issuing agency for this contract opportunity.
