About this file

This is a Utility Work Schedule (UWS) document issued by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for CenturyLink Communications, LLC regarding utility relocation and adjustment activities associated with the 16th Street NE Bridge Project in Collier County, Florida. The schedule outlines 48 separate utility work activities involving buried and aerial telecommunications cables, pedestals, hand holes, and drop wires spanning multiple stations along the project corridor. Work activities include removing, boring, splicing, protecting, adjusting, and activating various cable types and infrastructure elements to accommodate the roadway construction. All utility work is scheduled to occur during FDOT project construction, with a total of 51 consecutive calendar days allocated for completion. CenturyLink is required to maintain standard working hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with notification requirements five business days prior to work commencement and work activities outside standard hours requiring 48 hours advance coordination.

CenturyLink must comply with the 2017 Utility Accommodation Manual (UAM) and obtain a utility permit for all work performed under this schedule. The utility agency requires 60 days prior to construction commencement to address engineering, permitting, funding, and material procurement and requests continuous access throughout the project duration to monitor and maintain its facilities for service continuity. The work schedule is based on FDOT plans dated August 1, 2023, with the document signed by CenturyLink's Network Implementation Program Manager Troy Inniss on September 19, 2023, and approved by FDOT's Engineer of Record Jesse E. Gill. The document was finalized on March 15, 2024, with all activities dependent on concurrent roadway construction activities such as staking, excavation, grading, drainage work, and removal of hard surfaces.
