ADDENDUM NO. 1
The items contained in this addendum are added to and/or deleted from and become part of the specifications and proposal documents for the above-referenced Invitation to Bid. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of the Addendum on the Bid Form, located in the invitation to bid, when the bids are submitted.
Questions and Answers:
1. What is the extent of temporary access provisions to the front doors of 123 N. Front Street that will be required? Answer: After the Construction Contract is awarded, there will be a Pre-Construction Conference at the site that will include City Representatives, Procurement Representatives, the Architect and a representative of the current Tenant of 123 N. Front Street will be invited.
The Contractor shall submit a Project Schedule (in written form per Section 01019-2, 1.09, C) to be reviewed by all parties. It is understood that during the Project Period there will be times when the front doors to 123 will not be accessible or usable because of the work in progress.
The Contractor will endeavor to schedule the Work such that the amount of time that the front doors are not accessible will be minimal. It is understood that from the time that Site Demolition starts through the time the concrete is poured and cured, and while the railings are being fabricated until the railings are completely installed and accepted that the front doors will not be accessible. During the time that the front doors are not accessible or to be used, the Contractor shall provide barricades to block access and prevent pedestrians access to the construction area and on the newly poured landing, stair and ramp. The barricades shall not block off the existing sidewalk east of the new construction.
The Schedule provided by the Contractor should delineate the amount of time anticipated (not including possible weather delays) for each block of time that the front doors will be unusable including from:
i. Demolition through curing of the newly poured concrete landing, step and ramp.
ii. Complete Railing Installation after railings are fabricated and delivered to project site through Acceptance.

2. Is a General Contractor’s License required to bid on this project and to pull the
Permit? Answer: David Maschke, Architect, has conferred with the Director of the Dougherty County Building Inspection Department. The Inspection Department will be providing direction on this Question by 4/18/24 after which time the Answer to this Question will be issued by Addendum.
3. Will a Building Permit be required to be purchased and provided on this project? Answer: Yes, the successful bidding Contractor will be responsible for obtaining, paying for, and posting a Building Permit issued by the Dougherty County Building Inspection Department. The Permit shall remain posted (on the front of the glass doors where directed by the Architect) for the full duration of the project, until Final Acceptance of the Work.
4. Will the existing EFIS require cutting? Answer: Yes, per the Documents at locations where EFIS currently exists below the building floor line, where new concrete shall abut the existing structure at the landing, stair and at the ramp, the
Contractor shall saw cut the existing EFIS and fully remove it down below the building floor line. The Contractor shall then be responsible to apply EFIS base coat to the underside of the newly exposed cut bottom EFIS board edge, embed a layer of reinforcing mesh and then apply a second coating of base coat to re-establish the integrity of the EFIS finish system (a finish coat is not required) to prevent water and insects from entering the existing insulation board from the bottom edge.
