About this file
This document is the Cost Proposal for an Invitation for Bid (IFB) issued by the California Department of Food and Agriculture for Bid No. 24-0032b, seeking a contractor to provide aerial application of insecticide on an "as-needed" basis for Curly Top Virus Control. The contract is for a three-year term, with the contractor providing either fixed-wing aircraft or drones for the aerial application. The bid will be awarded to the contractor with the lowest overall total cost, with the contract computed based on a projected 80,000 acres per year, although there is no guarantee of the actual acreage to be treated or hours to be flown.
The Cost Proposal requires bidders to provide start-up fees for one aircraft, as well as the fixed-wing per-acre cost and the drone per-hour cost for each of the three years of the contract. The bid indicates that the acreage figures provided are approximate and for comparison purposes only, and the contract will be written to include costs for the three-season duration.
