SOLE SOURCE JUSTIFICATION

1. DESCRIPTION OF REQUIRED SUPPLIES/SERVICES, ESTIMATED VALUE,

AND DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS

This requirement is to clean, calibrate, provide B-89 certification, and, if necessary, repair fifth teen (15) Faro Laser Trackers, one (1) Laser Tracker Probe, two (2) Arms and two (2) Arm Scanners owned by the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center (NFPC). The contractor shall provide firm fixed pricing for the cleaning, calibration, and certification of the lasers. The repair will be provided as a Not-To-Exceed (NTE).

The period of performance is 1 year with an estimated cost of . This requirement shall be sole sourced to Faro Technologies Inc. (CAGE: 0VGY2).

2. SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION FOR SOLE SOURCE BASED ON

CONTRACTOR’S UNIQUE QUALIFICATIONS OR NATURE OF THE

ACQUISITION

NFPC currently owns fifth teen (15) Faro Laser Trackers, one (1) Laser Tracker Probe, two

(2) Arms and two (2) Arm Scanners produced by Faro. Every year, the trackers, arms, scanners, and probe need to be recertified by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). To be re-certified by the OEM, the contractor shall inspect, clean, calibrate, and provide necessary repairs. Since Faro is the OEM for these lasers, the Government is required to have the lasers re-certified by them. No other 3rd party vendor is certified to provide these services. Failure to procure these services by Faro shall make these lasers inoperable.

3. MARKET SURVEY

The requirement will be synopsized on Federal Business Opportunities to see if there are other vendors that can procure this requirement. NFPC shall consider other vendors if they provide substantial evidence that they can reliably re-certify the Faro lasers. However, based on NFPC’s own research of the industry, no other vendor can provide these services.

4. ADDITIONAL FACTS

None.

5. CUSTOMER SIGNATURE:

I certify that the statements and information provided above, are complete and correct to the best of my knowledge. I understand that the processing of this sole source justification precludes the use of full and open competition.
