About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Statistics of Income Division, seeking information on companies' capabilities to create fully-synthetic datasets using federal tax information, design a process for validating results generated using such synthetic data, and produce statistical data that accurately replicates true population data while protecting individuals' Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
The RFI outlines several key requirements, including the ability to design research tools to support the federal statistical community, create a tool that allows researchers to develop statistical programs using synthetic data and receive results based on actual data while preserving confidentiality, and provide training and technical support. The RFI also requests information on the respondents' past experience providing similar services, as well as whether they would submit a proposal in response to a future solicitation based on the current requirements. The RFI will be distributed solely through the MAS Schedule (Professional Services - Technical and Engineering Services (non-IT) under NAICS 541720), and the closing date is April 28, 2024, at 5:00 PM EST.
