About this file
This is a Vendor Questions and Answers document addressing a clarification regarding construction specifications for a federal contract opportunity.
The single Q&A addresses the installation of door frame and wall assemblies in an area with a raised floor system. A vendor inquired whether the wall assembly extending below the raised floor to reach the true floor is a Statement of Work (SOW) requirement, specifically to maintain the required Sound Transmission Class (STC) door rating. The government confirmed that yes, the wall must extend down below the access flooring to the true floor. This clarification establishes that proper acoustic performance of the door assembly necessitates extending the wall structure to the structural floor rather than terminating it at the raised floor level.
