5.1.5 Dirt Containment and Waste Disposal

Dirt shall not be left in area. If necessary, the carpet and furnishings shall be protected with plastic sheeting. If dust or dirt is found during the follow-up inspection after cleaning, the Contractor will reclean as necessary at no additional cost to the government. This shall include not only the facility, but if it is determined that the dust or dirt is still coming from the duct work, it shall be recleaned at no additional cost to the government. Disposal of all waste generated during cleaning shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. This disposal includes air filters, including HEPA air filters. The Contractor is responsible for transporting the filters from the equipment to the appropriate disposal locations. Metallic filters shall be disposed of in the recycling dumpster at the BEP annex loading dock and non-metallic filters shall be disposed of in the non-hazardous waste dumpsters in the middle of the BEP annex loading dock.

5.1.6 Ceiling Sections (Tile):

Ceiling sections shall not be damaged or soiled during this process; any ceiling sections damaged shall be replaced or repaired at the Contractor's expense. Any ceiling sections soiled shall be cleaned to the BEP's satisfaction. If it is not possible for them to be cleaned, they shall be replaced at the Contractor's expense.

5.1.7 Service Openings:

The Contractor shall utilize existing service openings at various points of the HVAC system wherever possible as required for proper cleaning, for physical and mechanical entry, and inspection.

The contractor may create new service openings, if desired. Any new opening must be fashioned so they can be sealed with removable access doors. The openings must not compromise the structural integrity of the system. Construction techniques used in the creation of openings should conform to requirements of applicable building and fire codes, and applicable National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and NADCA Standards.
