ADDENDUM #1
BID #2027-09
PAINTING PROJECTS
30th September, 2026 – It is intended that this Addendum incorporating the following corrections, revisions, additions, deletions and clarifications become part of the Contract Documents.
Requests for Information (RFI):
1. Should the unit prices submitted with the bid include Connecticut prevailing wage and/or Davis-Bacon wage rates for all work orders, or will the applicable wage requirements be identified and priced separately when each individual project is issued?
Response: Prevailing wage rates won't apply unless the work exceeds $100,000.00. However, the anticipated work is for small projects, therefor, prevailing wage is not expected to apply. Davis Bacon will not apply.
2. For exterior work, may extraordinary access requirements, such as lifts, scaffolding, or other specialized access equipment, be priced separately for each individual project?
Response: The work is mostly for interior painting. If exterior work is requested, lifts and scaffolding would be priced separately.
3. For the hourly rates listed for carpentry/wood repairs and window reglazing, should materials be included in the hourly rate, or may materials be billed separately based on the specific work order?
Response: The materials would be billed separately based on the specific work required.
4. I have a question on #6 on the bid proposal form. You state "lead abatement" do you mean true abatement? Or are you referring to lead safe practices? Or will RRP certification be adequate? “Hourly rate for lead paint abatement per local, state and federal regulations. Inclusive of materials and proper disposal.”
Response: True abatement will not be required as part of the work to be performed. Delete reference to abatement.
The awarded contractor shall be required to be RRP (renovation, repair and painting) certified to remove any lead paint from the immediate work area and properly dispose of the material.
