About this file
This is an Amendment 1 Questions and Answers document for the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Electrical Supplies Request for Bid (RFB #2026-UWMSN-01100-RFB), a procurement opportunity designed to supplement the Wisconsin Department of Administration's mandatory Maintenance Repair and Operational supplies contract. The solicitation encompasses electrical supplies including molded case circuit breakers, panelboards, disconnect switches, motor starters, contactors, overload relays, motor-protect switches, variable frequency drives with bypass or preassembled panel packages, and related electrical components. The bid was publicly posted on November 4, 2025, with submissions due by December 3, 2025, through the online platform at https://bids.sciquest.com/apps/Router/PublicEvent?CustomerOrg=UWisconsin. Technical questions should be directed to Brad Bauman at brad.bauman@wisc.edu. The procurement is narrowly defined in scope by specific items and part numbers listed on the itemized bid list, with usage limited to replacement, repair, and completion of existing and ongoing projects currently in place from the manufacturers specified.
Bidders may offer alternate manufacturer items believed to be equivalent to those listed, provided they clearly identify the manufacturer, catalog, model, or stock number and include detailed specifications to establish equivalency. The University of Wisconsin-Madison retains sole judgment of equivalent acceptability, and failure to provide requested product specifications may result in bid disqualification. For preassembled panel packages and VFD-with-bypass items, one-line diagrams and bills of materials should be provided to ensure accurate equivalent selection. Notably, the itemized bid list cells were unlocked to allow bidders to update discontinued part numbers to current products. The contract is intended as a supplemental arrangement and does not include specific set-asides, incumbent vendor information, budget ranges, or explicit pricing terms in the amendment document provided.
