About this file

This is a Procurement Exemption notice issued by Pierce County, Washington for a sole source procurement of repair services, parts, and maintenance for Aerzen blowers. The procurement covers repair services, parts and lubricants for Aerzen blowers, on-site services, and overhaul services at an unspecified location within Pierce County's jurisdiction. The notice indicates that Pierce County intends to make a directly negotiated purchase based on a sole source procurement exemption, meaning the County has determined that only one vendor can adequately meet the specialized technical requirements for Aerzen blower equipment maintenance and repair. Entities who believe they are capable of meeting the identified needs and requirements must submit a capability statement by the submission deadline specified in the notice.

The procurement exemption allows Pierce County to bypass standard competitive bidding procedures based on the determination that the Aerzen blower equipment requires specialized expertise and manufacturer-authorized service. The notice serves as a public announcement of the County's intent to negotiate directly with a qualified vendor, while providing other potentially capable vendors an opportunity to submit capability statements demonstrating their qualifications to perform these specialized services. This approach ensures that Pierce County can secure the necessary technical expertise for equipment maintenance while maintaining transparency through public notice requirements.
