About this file
This is a project description document for the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) regarding a public awareness campaign titled "Keep Your Home Safe from Radon" for 2026. The project seeks to develop and execute a comprehensive radon awareness initiative targeting Michigan homeowners. The campaign will include the creation of educational materials, public outreach strategies, and messaging designed to inform residents about radon risks and testing/mitigation options. The scope encompasses digital and traditional media components, community partnership coordination, and performance metrics to measure campaign effectiveness and reach across the state. Specific deliverables include campaign materials, media placements, and documented outreach efforts, with the campaign designed to run throughout 2026.
The project is funded through EGLE's environmental health and safety budget. Pricing terms, set-aside provisions, and detailed contract award procedures are to be determined through the formal solicitation process. The initiative represents the state's commitment to public health protection by increasing radon awareness among Michigan residents, particularly in regions with known radon concerns. The campaign builds on established radon testing and mitigation programs and aims to drive increased voluntary testing and remediation actions among homeowners. Award and contract execution timelines will be established following the competitive bidding process.
