About this file
This is a Prime Contractor Response Qualification Form for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Request for Bid 2026-581 for tree removal services at Lac qui Parle Wildlife Management Area. The project involves cutting, stump treatment with herbicide, and pile and burn or removal of designated woody material across 80 acres spanning two project areas—the Aamot and Engebretson Tracts located in Chippewa County. Prospective contractors must submit responses electronically through the Swift Portal, with all questions directed to the DNR buyer. Site visit inquiries should be directed to Nick Trauba, Assistant Area Wildlife Manager, at 320-297-0410 or Nicholas.Trauba@state.mn.us. The award will be made to the lowest responsible vendor meeting all specifications and terms and conditions, with the State reserving the right to award items separately, by grouping, or by total as deemed most advantageous.
The qualification form requires that prime contractors demonstrate substantial completion of at least one verifiable tree removal contract valued at $50,000 or greater since January 1, 2021, with similar scope and activity. Contractors must provide property owner information, contact details, contract dollar amounts, and substantial completion dates for reference verification. Additionally, companies must certify they have not been found in default or had a contract terminated for cause within the preceding 36 months; failure to meet this requirement results in automatic rejection of the response. Unit pricing must include all costs encompassing labor, materials, tools, transportation, equipment, and applicable taxes. The Direct Pay Permit 1114 does not apply to this project.
