About this file
The document is a comprehensive interior signage design intent package for the Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJRA) prepared by Gensler, a design firm located in Denver, Colorado. The project involves a detailed interior signage system spanning three levels of the airport, with a total of 148 distinct sign types including room identification, wayfinding, informational, warning, and specialized signs such as evacuation maps and restroom markers. The design intent package provides extensive specifications for sign fabrication, including material requirements, mounting instructions, typography standards, and placement guidelines, with signs designed to meet ADA compliance and airport-specific communication needs.
The signage package includes specific technical requirements for sign fabricators, emphasizing sustainable and resilient design practices. Gensler requires vendors to submit field-verified measurements, digital elevation drawings, and reference site photos, with a focus on diversity in vendor selection and environmental considerations. The project incorporates specific material specifications such as acrylic, aluminum, and stainless steel substrates, with precise color specifications using brands like Matthews Paint and 3M vinyl films. Fabricators must provide 5-year warranties on signs and finishes, comply with local green building codes, and follow detailed submission and quality assurance protocols. The project appears to be part of a broader airport renovation or modernization effort, with a strong emphasis on creating a cohesive, accessible, and environmentally conscious signage system.
