About this file
This document is a solicitation for printing and binding the "Michigan Airport Directory" for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Airports Division. The successful bidder will be responsible for transferring the pre-press files, printing the 384-page directory with a full-color front cover, black ink text, and a 2-color signature, and wire-O binding 5,000 copies. Fifty copies will be left unbound and 7-hole punched. The majority of the directories will be mailed to approximately 5,800 locations, with the remaining 1,150 copies delivered to the MDOT Airports Division in Lansing, Michigan. The vendor must submit paper samples for approval, and the low bidder may be required to provide samples of comparable publications if unknown to the Airports Division. Delivery of the completed directories is required by approximately February 21, 2025.
The solicitation provides detailed specifications for the paper stock, ink, and binding requirements. The vendor will be responsible for the bulk mailing, including individually poly bagging and addressing the directories, and billing MDOT separately for the mailing costs. This appears to be a safety-critical publication, and the Airports Division must approve the binding.
