About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers/Clarification No. 1 document for RFP 2025-064 issued by the Calvert County Department of Finance & Budget Procurement Office in Maryland for Correctional Health Care Services. The Request for Proposal seeks a contractor to provide comprehensive medical services for the Calvert County Detention Center, with the current contract expiring on June 30, 2025. The solicitation requires the selected vendor to perform at least 51% of the work directly and will cover medical services for a facility population that is 90% male and 10% female. The county has expended $873,001.98 on the current contract for fiscal year 2025 and is very satisfied with the current vendor.

The procurement does not include Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) or specific subcontracting requirements, though the contractor must perform a substantial portion of the work. The historical facility population averages around 130 detainees, with 1,569 bookings recorded previously. The county is openly soliciting responses and will award the contract to the most responsive proposer. While no explicit budget ranges are provided, the county has clearly outlined its expectation for comprehensive medical coverage including medical screening, intake evaluations, triage, sick call, mental health services, and emergency care, with staffing requirements that include a Medical Director, Physician Assistant, RNs, LPNs, and Certified Nurse Assistants.
