About this file

This is an Amendment 1 Question and Answer document for a Request for Bids (RFB) issued by the University of Wisconsin-Madison for Communication Access Real-Time Translation (CART) services in Italian (Solicitation 2024-UWMSN-00376-RFB). The University is seeking bids for both on-site and remote CART services conducted in Italian, with instructors speaking Italian as the originating language. Bidders may submit proposals for remote services only. The estimated usage for CART services in Italian is 120 hours for the current semester, representing a new service offering for the institution. Proposals must be submitted online through the specified VendorNet link at https://bids.sciquest.com/apps/Router/PublicEvent?CustomerOrg=UWisconsin, with inquiries directed to David J. Brinkmeier at david.brinkmeier@wisc.edu.

There is no historical spending data or established budget for Italian CART services, as this represents a new requirement. The University may award contracts to multiple vendors. Current captioning rates for the institution are available at http://www.bussvc.wisc.edu/purch/contract/wp5271.html. Captions should be provided in Italian with flexibility to caption any English content into English if needed. Some students prefer Italian content captioned in Italian with English content captioned in English, while others require only Italian captioning. The number of vendors to be selected will depend on the bids received.
