STATEMENT OF WORK/REQUIREMENTS DOCUMENT

Title: Procurement of Laboratory Environmental Monitoring Systems May 30, 2023

I. BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The Precision Imaging Facility at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is involved in the characterization of metals, semiconductors, and insulators in support of multiple projects. Materials characterization equipment, including electron microscope allow NIST scientists to make direct correlations between material processing, (nano)structure, and resulting properties. The operation of electron microscopes (and similar equipment) requires the maintenance of stringent laboratory environmental conditions, including acoustic noise, electromagnetic interference, and mechanical vibrations.

NIST specifically requires laboratory environmental monitoring equipment, including one mobile environmental monitoring system, and up to three fixed environmental monitoring systems. The mobile monitoring system will allow NIST staff to survey laboratory spaces prior to acquisition and installation of new equipment. The fixed environmental monitoring systems will allow NIST staff to constantly monitor laboratory environmental conditions to ensure that the high-precision characterization tools can function properly.

II. SCOPE

The Contractor shall deliver and install one mobile laboratory environmental monitoring system with features as defined in the “Minimum Requirements” section inclusive of FOB Destination. At the Government’s request, the Contractor shall deliver up to three (3) fixed laboratory environmental monitoring systems with features as defined in the “Minimum Requirements” section including of FOB Destination. Software as defined in the “Minimum Requirements” section shall be included. All systems shall be covered under warranty for at least one (1) year following acceptance by the Government to include all parts, software, labor, and shipping.
