20223201048 Amistad Interior Lighting

The purpose of this amendment is to extend the proposal due date and provide responses to RFI’s.

The proposal due date is hereby extended to 14 September 2022 at 4:00pm MST.

RFI’s

1. Regarding the light fixtures, are they Class 1 Div 2? They are NOT Class 1 Div. 2 type

2. Is the location considered hazardous? The Amistad Dam location is not considered hazardous.

Questions on PVC installation:

3. Although 1-1/4" pipe is specified, our supplier has confirmed that there are no round boxes or PVC fixture boxes with 1-1/4 openings. We noticed in some levels where the conduit has been replaced an T conduit body was used instead of the weather tight fixture boxes. The question is, will it be acceptable to install the light futures from a T body instead of a weather tight box? As long as T-body is water-tight then it’s use will be acceptable.

4. Are the switch boxes and switch covers supposed to be PVC also? Yes.

Question on wiring:

5. The specification calls for replacement of light fixtures conduit and switches.

However, on level 1 there is a plug that shares the conduit for the lighting.

replacing this plug and its electrical circuit is not included in the scope, but this will have to be demoed during the replacement of the lighting replacement. Is this Plug going to be abandoned? or is IBWC also wanting to replace it? IBWC is wanting it replaced.

6. There is an unknown device connected to the lighting circuit (please refer to images), does IBWC know the function of such device or have any information on it? Is this also being replaced or is it being abandoned? The unknown device connected to the lighting circuit is being abandoned.

All electrical housings, plugs, boxes and wiring must meet or exceed national code standards and replacements must be of equal or improved quality.
