About this file

This document is a layout plan for the Highland Park Tennis Courts renovation project by the City of Pittsburgh's Department of Public Works, located at 6344-6348 Stanton Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The project involves a comprehensive tennis court resurfacing and upgrade initiative divided into two phases, including repaving and resurfacing color coating on all tennis courts using the existing layout, replacing existing nets, and maintaining the current court colors. An add alternate option includes repaving the bleacher and pavilion area and replacing the existing water fountain with a new city standard water fountain. City Forestry will prune and remove trees conflicting with the renovation, with strict requirements to protect remaining trees during construction.

The project documents indicate a phased approach with specific technical specifications for the surface restoration, including a 1-1/2" minimum liquid applied acrylic surface system, 1-1/2" to 2" leveling/binder course using PennDOT Superpave materials, and a 6" minimum compacted PennDOT 2A base course. The restoration depth will vary, and the contractor is responsible for subbase aggregate management, compaction, and any necessary repairs to sidewalks. Key dates include a bid preparation timeline with markings on 4/25/2022, 5/23/2022, 8/9/2022, and 8/23/2022, suggesting the project was planned and prepared during this period. The project requires the contractor to handle all material disposal and site restoration while maintaining existing site furnishings like benches, concrete pads, fence posts, and top-rails.
