Jacksonville Air and Marine Janitorial RFQ 2018

Contractor Questions and Answers

Question 1:

Q: Stairwell is not listed in the SOW are we supposed to clean the stairwell?

A: Yes. 2.0 Line 22 and 2.D Line 14 (added in amendment for clarity)

Question 2:

Q: Give clarification on window cleaning?

A: Reception lobby glass (interior/exterior) including front or partition doors and exterior

1st floor windows will be cleaned daily. All other glass will be cleaned 2x per week in accordance with Attachment A Frequency Chart.

Question 3:

Q: What is the required cleaning the elevator it’s not the SOW?

A: The elevator will need the carpet vacuumed and the walls cleaned as needed. The walls are stainless steel. See 2D.14 and 2D.16 requirements.

Question 4:

Q: What is the required cleaning for the Hangar?

A: Hangar cleaning services will be limited to cleaning the drinking fountains, hand sinks, polish and clean personnel doors and hardware. Soap and paper products will be provided. This requirement is hereby added to final SOW at 2D.23 for clarity.

Question 5:

Q: What equipment does this apply to? The SOW states “Equipment States: All equipment purchases that will be reimbursable must be authorized by CBP before the purchase is made.

A: Reimbursable equipment items are janitorial equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and mops/buckets. Supplies are things such as paper products, rags, brooms, and cleaners. Contractor must get equipment purchases approved by COR before purchasing, and must send itemized receipts for all reimbursable costs with their monthly billings. These procedures are clarified in 2.0‐C of the SOW.

Question 6:

Q: How many square footage of tile flooring is required cleaning?

A: A Rough Estimate of the tiled flooring areas is 8,735 Ft2, which includes restrooms, stairwells, gym, and avionics areas. The RFQ is not to be bid by the square foot but based on all elements of the SOW and everything seen at the site visit.

Question 7:

Q: How many square footage of carpeting is required cleaning?

A: A Rough Estimate of the carpeted areas is: 5,524 Ft2, with roughly half of the area having furniture on it. No furniture, except Chairs, will need to be moved for vacuuming. The RFQ is not to be bid by the square foot but based on all elements of the SOW and everything seen at the site visit.

Question 8:

Q: Is the contractor required to clean the main Hanger and its flooring?

A: Hangar cleaning services will be limited to cleaning the drinking fountains, hand sinks, polish and clean personnel doors and hardware. Soap and paper products will be provided. This requirement is added to SOW at 2D.23 for clarity. See also Question 4.

Hangar floors are not in the janitorial scope.

Question 9:

Q: What, if any are the responsibilities of the Contractor for cleaning/maintaining the Mechanic Shop area?

A: Cleaning in the Mechanic’s shop is NOT required in the janitorial scope.

Question 10:

Q: What is the total SQFT of the Hangar?

A: See question 8. Hangar cleaning services will be limited to cleaning the drinking fountains, hand sinks, polish and clean personnel doors and hardware. Soap and paper products will be provided. Hangar SQFT is not applicable. Hangar floors are NOT in the janitorial scope.

Question 11:

Q: What is the total SQFT of the carpeted areas?

A: See question 7. A Rough Estimate of the carpeted areas is: 5,524 Ft2, with roughly half of the area having furniture on it. No furniture, except Chairs, will need to be moved for vacuuming. Question 12:

Q: Is the contractor responsible for cleaning the inside of the refrigerator?

A: Dishes and refrigerator interior are NOT in the janitorial scope and will be cleaned by

CBP staff.

Question 13:

Q: Is the contractor responsible for disposing the hazard waste bags? During the site visit there were 2 or 3 of these waste receptacles.

A: Disposing of hazardous waste receptacles is NOT in the janitorial scope. CBP has other personnel assigned conduct this task.

Question 14:

Q: Is there a dumpster outside available to put trash that are collected for disposal?

A: Yes. There is a dumpster on site for the use of the janitorial staff.
